Our food system is broken - how do we fix it?

Join our virtual session on Wednesday 6th May:

Time: 4-5pm GMT | 5-6pm CET | CST 10-11am

Location: Microsoft Teams

Food sits at the centre of three converging crises: climate, biodiversity, and health. Everyone agrees transformation is needed - but in practice, change has been slow, fragmented, and politically fraught.

So how can we jumpstart meaningful and lasting action?

If you work in food, sustainability, or strategy, this is the debate you don’t usually hear.

Dr. Benjamin Bodirsky, Senior Scientist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, is lead author of new research that goes beyond the navel-gazing that so often stands in the way of progress and models what a fully functional food system would require in reality. In his view, delivering on environmental, economic, and health goals means a seismic shift in approach.

In this session with Dr Bodirsky, we’ll explore:

  • What the data says we’d have to change, and how far that is from today

  • The uncomfortable trade-offs most strategies gloss over

  • Where business action can genuinely move the needle (and where it can’t)

  • What this means for companies across the food and agriculture value chain

Expect an honest, frank conversation and come prepared to ask tough questions.
